Accessories
Impact Technologies has developed automated diagnostic and prognostic health management modules for predicting the health of critical gas turbine accessory components and systems. The accessory health monitoring modules use aircraft sensors, engine sensors and control system information in conjunction with Impact’s prognostic health management (PHM) algorithms to detect incipient faults and impending failure in engine accessory system components.
Impact has direct experience with the failure mode drivers most commonly associated with gas turbine accessory components, including aircraft fuel and lubrication systems, auxiliary power units and generators, and AMAD gearboxes. Model-based and data-driven reasoners are utilized to indicate the presence and severity of faults. The reasoners are tuned using specific test data obtained at various temperatures, pressures, and flow rates of the system being monitored. Impact has also developed automated classifiers to indicate the presence of faults, as well as routines to track the evolution of faults and to indicate the time-to-failure for various components.
