Impact Technologies, LLC, is a growing company that supplies advanced diagnostic and prognostic hardware solutions and software tools for the aircraft, transportation, power, process, defense and medical industries. We are seeking several Electrical Engineers - for our "Sensing and Monitoring" group in our Rochester, NY office. Qualified candidates may also be interviewed by our Unmanned Vehicle Health Monitoring and Electrical Prognostics groups. The candidate should have a skill set in one of the following areas:

Circuit design
Embedded systems design
RF design

The candidate would be hired at a level commensurate with experience (Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer / Technical Specialist / Project Manager). Experienced candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will fill a variety of roles, which may include (depending on skill set and current project status):

Designing new sensing products and optimizing existing technologies – e.g. back-end circuitry, materials, geometries, functionality.
Designing, optimizing and testing circuits, including analog, digital & RF
Designing a variety of embedded system at all levels from data acquisition & basic control to advanced processing to external communication.
Working with and developing fluid sensing and corrosion monitoring technologies that rely heavily on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
Data analysis and data mining – correlating sensor responses with physical changes in environment.

General:

Writing reports detailing the work performed. The ability to produce high quality reports is critical to achieving success with our customers..
Assisting in writing proposals to commercial and government clients.
Presenting results to clients and other stakeholders.
Presenting results at appropriate conferences.

Requirements:

BS Degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering [or hardware aspects of Computer Engineering]
Relevant experience and professional interest related to several of the items listed in the above responsibility list.

Desired: (Bonus Attributes):

Candidates with a wide skill set.
Experience programming in standard languages (C, Matlab/Simulink),
Experience with Data Acquisition (and LabVIEW)
Detailed design experience with RF circuits
Experience with high bandwidth sensors, e.g. vibration sensors.
Experience in sensor development, wireless sensors, certifications and standards. (e.g. IEEE 1451)
Experience with wireless networking, mesh networking, low power electronics design.
Experience working with process, automotive, aircraft or similar industries that would utilize the products.
Experience programming firmware for embedded systems.
Engineers who can start soon (we have immediate openings) and hit the ground running.
Ability to travel on business (occasional).

Extra Bonus Attributes:

Working knowledge of EIS and electrochemical modeling.
Experience in oil analysis techniques and equipment (FTIR, Karl-Fisher titration, etc).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
