Digital Electronics

Impact Technologies is developing an integrated diagnostic/prognostic system for assessing the remaining useful life of digital electronic boards with direct application in avionic systems. Cradle-to-grave health state awareness can be achieved through the teaming of model-based assessments in the absence of fault indications and a data driven approach to track indicators of failure providing failure mode classification.

Impact Digital Electronics

A digital electronic component (e.g. microprocessor) was selected for study and targeted for PHM algorithm development. Devices are continually subjected to aging through electrical, mechanical and environmental stresses inherent to operational conditions throughout a given lifetime. The following three variants of accelerated tests were performed to contribute to the aging tendencies of MOSFETs:

Each aging process illustrated unique degradation tendencies. Statistical and correlation-based features extracted from historical data further characterize the individual signal behaviors. Finally, an empirical system model can be created that captures these interrelationships and the accepted deviations using SignalPro™. Impact Technologies’ SignalPro analysis engine offers a system monitoring approach that can be used to evaluate electronics system performance by employing a combination of signal processing, statistics, and data-driven modeling techniques.
